Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge/Assateague Island National Seashore
It was a nice visit to Chincoteague and the Refuge this weekend.
A whitetail doe with her young fawn close behind.
It was early evening when we saw these two.
Evening sky across the marsh from Assateague Beach.
The Assateague Lighthouse beacon flashes brightly in the near darkness.
Wallops Island glows in the night.

I've wanted to visit there every since I was a child. Did you see the wild ponies? Nice shots.
@LastStopCrazyTown - We saw a few on this trip. We have a little place at Chincoteague, and being only 50 miles away can visit often. We have seen the ponies many times. Fact is, my wife's father bought a pony from there at the auction more than 50 years ago and it was later broke to ride. It was a great, rugged pony. Lived to be more than 28 years old.
